I think the pre-surgery insomnia has begun....couldn't sleep last night. And for some reason I guess Addie couldn't either. She was up at 11:30 and didn't fall back asleep until 1am and then was up again at 6:30. Not sure what the deal was considering she usually sleeps from 7:30 until 6 or so...hopefully tonight will be better atleast for her if not for both of us! I know I won't be able to sleep tomorrow night or wed. night, so hoping I can get some good sleep tonight....which reminds me, why haven't I gone to bed yet???
So being awake I have had time to think of A LOT of things.....and it got me wondering...how many people that I've "met" through blogging go to the National Convention? It is in Sacramento next year, July '09, and since Sacramento is only 2 hours from Zac's dad and step-mom in Reno,NV, we'll be going to the convention and planning on either going earlier or staying later and driving over to stay at Zac's dad's for a couple of days. So just curious if anyone is already planning on attending. I'm already getting excited!
Addie continues to seem like her cold is getting better. Dr. Mark called today to see how she was doing and to see if there was any questions we had before going down to the U on Wednesday.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and well wishes. Please just continue to pray that Addie's cold continues to go away and that all of her bloodwork comes back good on Wednesday so that we can move forward with the surgery on Thursday! Two more days to go!
I've got the surgery on the calendar for Thurs so we don't forget to pray that day. I remember our big surgery day well... and we were so blessed to have hundreds of prayer warriors lifting us up that day and the days that followed.
ReplyDeleteI saw somewhere back in your archives that the dr recommended for you to "be prepared" (like that's possible really) for what she would look like after surgery. I just want to echo this, as I didn't have time to read all the posts to see if you had found some good resources. We found it so much less scary to have an idea of what we'd find on our first visit to the CICU, so much so that it wasn't really even disturbing to see her. We knew she was fixed up and better at that point than she'd been before then.
I don't even know for sure what Addie's exact heart issue is...Braska's was complete AV canal with some valve issues as well. But for what it's worth, I'll put a link here to our post celebrating our 1-year after surgery. There's several links on there about our stay. Do NOT feel obligated to check it out if it might be upsetting!! Just want to offer our perspective as it happened for us. Please feel free to ask any questions at all...
