Addie did so good today! God has been moving some mountains in room 218 in the PICU! We got to put a shirt on her today that I had bought especially for her surgery so it would work with all the tubes and it was perfect! The afternoon was a little hard holding her off until we could feed her. We had to wait four hours after extubation to feed, and then got to feed her an ounce of pedialyte, which she sucked down in about 2 minutes. She tolerated that well, so an hour later we got to give her 2 ounces of breast milk, which she sucked down and now she is taking another 2 ounces! So she is doing good and it looks like tomorrow the chest tubes should come out as well as her central line in her thigh and then possibly moving down to the peds floor!
She looks so wonderful!! I am so happy that she is doing so well. we are jumping up and down with joy here!
ReplyDeleteFound your blog through RK. I too have a little one that has come through open-heart surgery. It sounds like your beautiful girl is doing very well!! I'm thrilled to read that.
ReplyDeletePraying that all continues to go smoothly and that you are able to take her home soon.
Blessings,
Leslie
